LETTER #108 - ∞
(TO BE OPENED AT BREAKFAST DAY AFTER)
Baby,
Had a good time last night?
How amazing life truly is! As I was putting all this together, I was taken back in time - re-living our crazy rollercoaster ride. Baby, we have been blessed by miracles along the way, small and big... Seeing these synchronicities around us is like stepping into a different world. How everything just flows out of a script already written. Like a story we once read. How familiar the feeling; how catching when our glances first met. Just like in the movie Slumdog Millionaire everything does happen for a reason. I see it now.
Remember Bali? The closest day you and I ever get to a wedding… The closest to a bridal gown that I have ever seen you in. You, in all white. Standing there as an angel would. My angel. That photo is one of my favourites. As if it couldn't get any better, Nature herself sends flock of birds to fly alongside you. Notice the one flying at your ear like a fluttering shimmer off your earring? How beautiful is that? Imagine the synchrony of the myriad of things happening just at the right place and the right time? How magical is that?
The videos somehow capture them. (I am counting 12 so far) Baby, I have watched the videos a thousand times. No matter how many times I watch them, I get the same feeling. A sense of unspeakable lightness comes over me. My heart stretches to let something bigger in. A feeling that leaves nothing else for want. I am home. All is just the way I remember it. Just the way I want…. Baby, I can watch these videos forever.
I want to tell you a secret. Not really a secret but something I have never told anyone. Probably because even I myself didn’t even quite understand what it means. Until now.
This is Curly. Curly “gave” me something very special many years ago. Go a mile with him, and Billy Crystal… (another synchronicity!?)
Jack Palance got an Oscar for this. Quite an enigma himself in life, he is a man who traverses extremes with ease and even grace. A real-life cowboy… not many are of his kind are left. So whether it is Curly or Jack speaking; it doesn’t matter. The message is through. His words ring on like a bell… I didn’t think much of the movie but this line from him gave me something that means everything.
This shoebox is my one thing. Everything in it comes straight from deep inside. It is a piece of me. The very best thing I have for you. The love of my life.
